How is everyone? It’s super busy for us at the moment. School is coming to a close for the summer holidays, and just as it feels like it’s a good time to pull on those shorts and have an ice cream… working is hugely slim up as we head into the busiest time of the year. Ekk!!

New advice is being provided by experts on the best order to renovate a property after it was revealed that more than half of homeowners have made mistakes, and 36 per cent regret their renovations.
Radiator specialists, BestHeating, polled homeowners on renovation habits, revealing that nine in 10 have taken on a renovation project since 2020. According to the research, more than a third of homeowners will spend up to £10,000 tackling renovations, so it is a costly project to get wrong.

Hands up who has a little one that LOVES bugs? Me too! From the moment she clapped her eyes on them, that was it. Ladybirds in her hair, snails who somehow managed to come to tea, and little pet woodlice wriggling around in their new ‘leaf houses’.
It’s no surprise that we’ve completely fallen in love with the new picture book, The Girl Who LOVES bugs by Lily Murray. It’s newly published just in time for bug season by Macmillan Children’s Books. Here’s what we thought.
Synopsis
The inside of Karen and Darryl Dagenais’s house looks as if it’s under construction. No drywall, electrical switches or lights. And only a couple of plugs to power the kitchen appliances.
The two said they had to rip out all the plaster and insulation last year because it had been badly damaged from rain water poured into the house through the tarps serving as a temporary roof.
“It was basically like Niagara Falls in our home,” Karen said, adding the roof had been removed during a renovation project to add two more levels to their back-split home in Windsor’s Forest

When it comes to new picture books to look out for, hands down Owlet Press has it covered. From all the cuteness, to stories that empower and encourage little ones, it’s there. And of course they are going to be packaged beautifully by some of the most fantastic and current illustrators. Yay! *Did you know that Davide Ortu who illustrated the Owlet Press The Tooth Fairy series was also THE illustrator for Carrie Hope Fletcher’s Double Trouble Society *mind blown! So anyway, this is what you have to look forward to!
